This weekend, Apple doubled their previous one-day sales record (merely one million orders in the first twenty-four hours) for preorders of the iPhone 5. Apple still says it expects to ship all the ordered phones this Friday, as anticipated. From the end of the month to the end of the fiscal year, Apple expects to sell nearly ten million phones, Reuters reports. Elsewhere, wireless network providers are bearing down for the increased load that this influx of 4G-ready phones will provide, an MIT Tech Review article states. The increased load over the next three months will be substantial, but is just the tip of the wireless-data iceberg.
