Bio
Stephen is located in Chicago, Illinois and is a partner and member of the intellectual property (IP) group. He has nearly 20 years of experience in IP law and more specifically IP litigation and counseling clients on issues related to pharmaceutical patents.
Stephen primarily assists clients in industries regulated by the Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission. This includes representing clients in Hatch-Waxman Act litigation, New Drug Applications (NDAs), Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs), biologics and biosimilars, antitrust matters, and other complex regulatory matters. He manages matters from strategy design to settlement and verdict. Stephen has led fact and expert discovery; appeared at hearings and filed motions; conducted direct and cross-examination at trial; and routinely supervises associates on litigation tasks.
Stephen has an extensive background in microbiology and physics. This includes participating in a study of bacterial pathogenicity factors of Haemophilus influenza, which was presented at the 39th Annual Meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Stephen received his J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law in 2005. He received his M.S. in neurobiology from Northwestern University and his B.S. microbiology and physics from the University of Michigan.
