BlackBerry Forms New IP-Centric Business Unit

BlackBerry said yesterday that it has created a new business unit called BlackBerry Technology Solutions (BTS) which will include 44,000 patent assets and several software projects. Sandeep Chennakeshu, the former President of Ericsson Mobile Platforms and CTO of Sony Ericsson, has been named President of BTS and will be in charge of helping the struggling handset manufacturer find new revenue streams.
