Facebook on a Patent Buying Streak

A report published by Envision IP sheds lights on patent purchases made by Facebook since January 2013. Of the 100 or so acquisitions, 54 came from Fujifilm (video compression, image playback and editing), 22 came from AT&T (personalized content delivery, determining relationships within a social network), and several others came from Vega Vista (motion tracking technologies, virtual displays). Facebook's patent applications have also increased, with USPTO submissions growing from 69 in 2009 to 649 in 2012.
