IP Matters Web Series: Defensive Publication

The next installment of the Patexia IP Matters Web Series will talk about Defensive Publication and will take place on April 11th at 10:30AM PT.

Defensive Publication is an intellectual property strategy used to prevent another party from obtaining a patent by disclosing an enabling description and/or drawing of the product, apparatus or method so that it enters the public domain and becomes prior art.

It's being used currently to help protect various open source/open innovation projects like Linux.

The talk will be given by Andrea Casillas, the director of Linux Defenders at Open Innovation Network.
