Jury Finds Apple Infringed WARF Patent

Earlier this week, a Wisconsin jury found that Apple infringed US Patent 5,781,752, which is owned by Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF). WARF says that the '752 patent improves the A7, A8, and A8x chips that Apple uses in newer iPhones and iPads. US District Judge William Conley has written that the maximum damages that can be claimed is $862.4M as the case moves into the damages phase.
