Masimo Wins Infringement Verdict Against Philips Electronics

A federal judge ruled earlier today that Philips Electronics NA should pay Masimo Corp $466.8M for having infringed two patents covering the measurement of blood oxygen and pulse rate. Philips had conceded infringement, but argued that the patents should be invalid on the grounds of obviousness. The Delaware jury found that Philips did not prove these claims, and ruled in Masimo's favor in the case that started back in 2009.
