One-fifth of all IPR petitions denied institution according to 2015 PTAB report

In January, legal analytics firm Lex Machina released a report on activities at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) through the end of 2015. This report helps shed some light on key trends that can give patent owners and lawyers a better idea of what to expect if they find their intellectual property facing a challenge through a PTAB petition.
