Samsung's IP win in Japan

With all the media covering the recent Northern California District Court decision, it's easy to forget that the patent wars are being waged elsewhere in the world as well. Today, a Tokyo court ruled in favor of Samsung in an infringement case brought by Apple. This comes as good news for Samsung, as the non-American smartphone-consuming world slowly becomes an increasingly important market. Still, the stakes were lower than last week's jury case, but one more judge saying that Samsung didn't copy the iPhone can't hurt.
