VIDEO - Making parking garages more dangerous with MIT's non-GPS autonomous airplane

The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) set a number of difficult-to-reach goals for unmanned aerial vehicles researchers. Research did not, however, progress as expected -- it went much faster. AUVSI has been forced to make the challenges significantly more difficult, the latest diallowing the use of GPS for navigation in tight interior spaces. MIT's Robust robotics group stepped up and produced a seriously impressive two-meter airplane. If I ever visit MIT, I will no longer be comfortable walking in their parking garages (who knows what might be flying around in there?).
