Join Patexia and Gregory Gonsalves, Patent Attorney at The Gonsalves Law Firm and former Judge at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) for a discussion of how to succeed in Inter Partes Reviews (IPR) and Covered Business Method (CBM) Reviews at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

The course will provide guidance on how to increase the probability of achieving success at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board from the perspective of the Patent Owner and the Petitioner. The course will also identify some common mistakes that should be avoided. The course will also cover issues that often arise in IPRs and CBMs such as motions for additional discovery and the real party in interest issue.

The webinar will last 30 minutes.

About the Speaker

 

Gregory Gonsalves

The presenter, Dr. Gregory J. Gonsalves, has represented clients in over 160 IPRs and CBMs. He has represented more Patent Owners in IPRs and CBMs than any other attorney and nearly all law firms. More recently, he has also represented Petitioners in several IPRs and CBMs. Dr. Gonsalves also served as a Judge at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board for three years. Prior to that, he focused his practice on patent litigation at Jones Day and Pennie & Edmonds. Dr. Gonsalves achieved his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and also has a PhD in Computer Engineering and a MS and BS in Electrical Engineering.
