Biography
I am 'Pharmaceutical Materials Scientist' with about 12 years of experience in this field. My 'pharmaceutical material science laboratory' is focused to investigate the impact of the physico-mechanical properties of pharmaceutical materials on their final dosage form design and final dosage form performance with the help of our developed DM3 approach. This approach is composed of four main elements: design of experiments (D), material characterization at molecular and macroscopic level (M1), manufacturing factor characterization (M2), and multivariate analysis (M3). This approach is important in the light of ICHQ8 or ‘Process Analytical Technology (PAT)’ guideline issued by the US FDA. We are conducting this research with the help of advanced analytical tools like powder and single crystal X-ray diffraction; differential scanning calorimetry; thermal gravimetric analysis; important modules in Material Studio®; and compaction simulator. Finally, we are analyzing this information with the help of highly sophisticated statistical tools like multivariate analysis. I have given several oral invited talks in international conferences held across USA and Europe. have published over 25 research papers, review articles, and book chapters in well known highly reputed international pharmaceutical journals. I am serving as a reviewer for various international journals like International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Advanced Powder Technology, Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, Journal of Pharmaceutical Innovations, and Powder Technology. I am providing consultancy services to various small scale industries, as well as providing expert opinions on patent documents.
