Joe Dumesnil is the Founder and President of Orchid Petroleum Advisors LLC (OPAL), which provides technical and economic insight and understanding to operators and the investment community on upstream petroleum industry exploration and development endeavors. Mr. Dumesnil has worked in the industry for 13 years, mostly with multi-disciplinary sub-surface technical teams. Prior to OPAL, he was Manager of Halliburton's China Unconventional Tech Team. While in China he served as the Lead Unconventional Petrophysicist and Geologist for the region, also advising on projects globally. He was appointed Co-Chair for the Beijing based American Chamber of Commerce's Oil, Energy and Power Subcommittee and served as Chairman and Program Chair of the Society of Petroleum Engineers' Northern China International Section. His expertise is in reservoir characterization to benefit accessing storage capacity and enhancing flow capacity in petroleum exploration and development. Most recently, he has been advising on acquisitions of onshore US assets, service sector entities, mapping and executing business strategy in shallow oil and CBM exploration and assessing oil field technologies currently in proof of concept to early commercialization phase. In addition, he has held positions in Human Resources and Global Information Technology. Currently, he is based in Denver. • B.A. Geology from Denison University • M.Sc.
