Mylan sued over generic drug

Mylan confirmed today that they and Family Care have been sued by Warner Chilcott over a filed Abbreviated New Drug Application.  The application was filed for the drugs Norethindrone and Ethinyl Estradiol Chewable Tablets Ferrous and Fumarate Chewable Tablets; these drugs are the generic versions of Warner Chilcott’s drug Generess™ Fe. Mylan is confident that the application submitted to the FDA was the first completed Abbreviated New Drug Application to feature a Paragraph IV certification. Furthermore, Mylan anticipates qualification for a 180 day approval for marketing exclusivity.
