Oracle releases SOA Suite for healthcare integration capabilities

Oracle has released its Oracle SOA Suite for healthcare integration, a unified enterprise application infrastructure platform. The Oracle SOA Suite delivers healthcare message standards support, dashboards and monitoring for healthcare collaboration, and a toolkit for rapid HIPAA 5010 upgrade and compliance.

The Oracle SOA Suite also helps lower operating costs and speeds time-to-market by offering a consistent user interface, management console and monitoring environment, in addition to healthcare libraries and templates for healthcare customer options.

Michael Weingartner, Vice President of Product Development for Oracle, explains how the technology addresses “the extensive set of standards” to which “all healthcare organizations are required to adhere” and how previously this had presented “a significant information technology challenge.” However, he reveals that with the launch of Oracle SOA Suite for healthcare integration “Oracle has merged specialized healthcare integration capabilities into a unified enterprise application infrastructure platform. By embedding support for healthcare-specific standards within Oracle SOA Suite 11g, we are able to help healthcare organizations improve efficiencies, lower operating costs and reduce time-to-market.”

As part of the Healthcare Adapter for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, the integrated suite is fully configurable and extensible, offers healthcare message standards support, and has built-in messaging and exchange standards support. Dashboards help users easily define documents and endpoints through simplified user experience and advanced monitoring capabilities. The toolkit for rapid HIPAA 5010 upgrade and compliance offers pre-defined integration mapping for HIPAA standards.
